After winning the Cypriot championship in 2018 with Apoel Nicosia, he is establishing himself in European football with the Freiburg shirt. This season, he is in the running for the Bundesliga title with the Bianconeri.

Sallai is a regular presence in the Hungarian national team, with whom he has made 38 appearances and scored nine goals, also participating in the group stage of Euro 2020.
